Know The Law
Prevention Starts With Knowledge
PACT, in partnership with St. Johns County Schools and St. Johns County Sheriff's Office, is proud to use the Know The Law program in St. Johns County schools. PACT can also provide the program in other community settings for parents and youth. This program works to inform youth about the law, to teach them about the consequences of breaking the law, and to help them know their rights.
How Do We Know It Works?
Know the Law is a state approved Evidence Based Program. Students who attend a Know The Law presentation are given a pre and post test so we can measure the success of the program locally.
What are the presentations like?
A Know The Law presentation can involve a small classroom of students or an assembly with dozens of students in attendance, on up to a presentation for an entire school population. Usually a school resource officer gives the presentation utilizing a slideshow, and drawing on examples from actual experiences they have encountered. Students will receive a booklet they can take home after the presentation which covers the information they learned about!
